HOW IT WORKS

THREE SCHOLARSHIPS.
TWO PATHS. ONE PURPOSE.

The 2414 Scholarship Competition is a Shark-Tank-like competition for 9th-12th graders.

The goal of the competition is simple: to help highschoolers better understand God’s plan and how He is calling them to participate in it — both now and in their future careers.

Three of the participants will win scholarships to help them do what God is calling them to do.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to make up my mind about participating in the competition before I register for the Kickoff Gathering?

No. The Kickoff Gathering will help you decide if the competition is right for you.

I’m not sure about my career plans…or about starting a business. Should I still register?

Absolutely. The Kickoff Gathering is designed for exactly someone like you. By attending, you will get a ton of clarity about how understanding God’s plan can inform your plans — regardless of your future career. Moreover, the Kickoff Gathering will help you decide if participating in the scholarship competition is right for you right now.

What will happen in the workshops?

Great question. In the workshops, 2414 Ministry leaders will help you better understand God’s purpose & plan — and how you can join Him in it. The workshops will be a mix of teaching, personal reflection, and discussion. They will also equip you with what you need to know to submit your scholarship application.

If I have a conflict during one of the meeting times, what do I do?

To take part in this competition, you need to attend all the meetings. If you want this, you need to show up. However, if a conflict is unavoidable, here’s what to do:

Conflict with the Kickoff Gathering: We will make a recording available until the commitment window for the competition closes on December 6th. The only way to get access to the 2nd and 3rd workshops (and thereby be eligible for the competition) will be to watch the meeting and sign up using the link we will provide there.

Conflict with the 2nd or 3rd meetings: Again, you need to attend the scheduled meetings to be eligible for the competition. If a conflict is unavoidable, please contact us no less than 48 hours before the meeting to determine if an audio or video recording can be made available.

Is there an informational meeting for parents, educators, or ministry leaders?

Yes and no. We will not host a separate meeting for parents, educators, and ministry leaders. That said, all are welcome (and encouraged) to attend the Kickoff Gathering — and any additional meetings if you have a student engaging in the competition.

How will the scholarships be awarded?

All essays and business pitch submissions will be reviewed by 2414 Ministries and its volunteers to select the finalists. The best 3 career essays and 3 business pitches will be selected to present their essay or business pitch at a Live Competition the evening of Wednesday, March 31, 2027 in Shreveport, LA. Our panel of judges will select the scholarship winners after their presentations that evening.

What can I do with the scholarship money if I win?

Depends on which path you choose:

  • Students who write a Career Essay can use the scholarship toward their post-high school studies or approved ministry or mission work.
  • Business Pitch winners can use their scholarship to start or grow their business or ministry.
What happens after the competition is over?

We want to see all participants be equipped to do God’s will. Winners and other contestants in the competition may be selected (based upon their essays or business pitches) for an invitation to job shadowing opportunities or mentoring. All participants may receive ongoing equipping and encouragement from 2414 — and will be informed when next year’s Scholarship Competition is about to begin.
